A commanding and deeply atmospheric Italian antique fragment candlestick, constructed entirely from 18th and 19th century period materials. The form is monumental in character — a turned urn-form candle cup surmounting a layered column of stacked architectural elements: a domed cap with petal-form collar, a broad cylindrical drum, and a stepped molded base raised on three scrolled feet. Every element has been assembled from genuine antique fragments, and the accumulated patina of centuries — layers of paint, gesso, and gilding worn to a chalky, ghostly surface of extraordinary beauty — speaks to the devotional and architectural contexts from which these materials were drawn.

The overall surface is a study in controlled decay: cracked, peeling, and bleached to a warm grey-white, with traces of gilt and polychrome visible beneath the uppermost layers. The three scrolled feet at the base anchor the piece with a Baroque solidity, while the petal collar and urn-form cup at the crown give it an almost floral delicacy. An object of this presence reads as sculpture as much as functional candlestick — equally at home on a mantel, altar table, or as a centerpiece in a considered interior.
